1. Overview
620-0073C is Honeywell ELPM (Ethernet Loop Processor Module) dedicated communication processor card, compatible with S9000 legacy DCS and Experion PKS modern control systems. It acts as a core protocol gateway between serial field devices and industrial Ethernet backbone. It converts traditional Modbus RTU 485 signals to standard Modbus TCP, allowing up to 255 field transmitters, valve positioners and secondary PLCs to access the DCS control network. It supports redundant ring network topology to avoid single-point communication failure; built-in multi-layer hardware isolation and surge suppression eliminate ground loop and electromagnetic interference in chemical, power and oil & gas sites. Rack-mounted hot-swappable design, full PCB anti-corrosion conformal coating, widely used for transformation and expansion of old Honeywell S9000 control cabinets.
